  • TLC 2017 WRAP UP

This past year, Aktion Club hosted two Training and Leadership Conferences. In Michigan and Florida collectively, more than 250 members, advisors, caregivers and volunteers participated. And once again, the events gave participants opportunities to learn new things about service and leadership—while meeting old friends, making new ones and gaining inspiration to take back home.

For a few years now, the TLCs have been useful and inspiring events for Aktion Club members and those who mentor and serve them. But they have also proven to be excellent Kiwanis-family events. This year, CKI and Key Club participated in both locations, helping with set-up, clean-up, social activities, service and workshops. Both events also benefited from enthusiastic participation by local Kiwanis clubs and their district leadership.

Thanks again to everyone who made the 2017 Aktion Club TLCs a success. Be on the lookout for information on the next TLC, which will be held in conjunction with the Kiwanis International Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada, in June 2018!

  • It's contest time!

If your club participated in the Aktion Club contests this year, advisors should submit the first-place winners in the five contest categories to the district administrator by September 15. The district winners will then be sent to Kiwanis International for international judging. The deadline is October 1. If you have questions, contact your district administrator for more details. All contest information can be found on the Aktion Club website.

  • New Year, New Resources

The 2017–18 Aktion Club year begins October 1. To get your club started off right, we have scheduled a fall mailing full of new club materials to be sent to all active clubs. Shipment will be made to the Aktion Club’s facility or Kiwanis advisor. The mailing will include two updated advisor guides, enough updated member handbooks for the current membership and new club officer guides.

To ensure your club receives this mailing, make sure member dues are paid for the 2016–17 year by checking the Paid Membership Report for Aktion Club. Materials for new members added for 2017–18 will be sent once dues have been paid in the Membership Update Center.
