AKTION CLUB SERVICE

Is your club or district interested in showcasing a project at the Aktion Club TLC Service Fair in New Orleans, Louisiana, June 27th, 2012 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM during the Welcome Reception?

The 2012 Aktion Club TLC service fair will take place in New Orleans on Wednesday, June 27 and will be in the Kiwanis Convention Exhibit Hall.

The exhibits will remain up throughout the entire Aktion Club TLC and Kiwanis International Convention but tables will be staffed during the opening of the exhibit hall on Wednesday evening. Sign up today to participate! See below for information.

How to Reserve a Table

The Aktion Club TLC service fair offers an exciting opportunity for attendees to showcase their service projects, initiatives, fundraising, or other service activities. The service fair also serves as a great way to spark involvement with your cause by reaching out to your broader international community while also serving to highlight your club, district, or division’s successes. If you are interested in reserving a table, please feel out the online form.

Location and costs

The 2012 convention service fair will take place during the Aktion Club TLC and Kiwanis International convention in New Orleans, Louisiana from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Wednesday, June 27th. All materials for production of the club or district’s service board are the responsibility of those individuals. We invite you to use a tri-fold, regular poster board, or any other resources you deem best fit to appropriately display your given project! If needed, presenters are responsible for their own housing costs for the convention. For housing and registration information, click here. The service fair will remain open through the entire convention, however the tables will not be manned except during the official fair from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Wednesday, June 27th.

Timeline

May 30, 2012 – All requests to reserve a table must be submitted.
June 11, 2012– All requests/applicants will be notified about their status.
June 27, 2012–Set-up begins at noon in the Kiwanis Covention exhibit hall located in the New Orleans convention Center.  All presenters in the service fair should refer to their convention program for more information regarding set-up and service fair operations.

Selection Criteria:

Presentations that demonstrate the greatest educational value to the convention attendees will be selected. Suggestions on projects to highlight include new service opportunities, service successes, or presentations highlighting Aktion Club service initiative, Sleeping Children Around the World, district projects, or club projects/traditions. Please feel free to incorporate the theme into your display; however, you will not be judged on this as part of their selection criteria. Important Information: Please be advised that by submitting a request for a table you acknowledge and agree that Aktion Club is not responsible for any damages or theft of property that may occur during set-up, the service fair, or take-down. Each presenter is responsible for their own property including AV equipment, laptop computers, and all other presentation materials on the table.
