Engaging with different kinds of places and individuals in your community can be a win-win for your club and for them! Consider building partnerships with a variety of goals.
Businesses can donate supplies for activities (like art supplies for posters) or for service projects (like toiletries for hygiene bags). They can serve as a location where items are purchased and donated, such as taking food donations at a grocery store. Restaurants can partner for a “dine and donate night” when a percentage of revenue goes to your club.
Government agencies and officials are great resources too. Members can offer to clean up or help patrons at public parks, libraries or historical sites. Elected or appointed officials can help provide your club with access to public spaces or advocate for your club publicly.
Don’t forget that individuals are often the first to support clubs! Many community members — along with friends and family — offer their time, talents and treasure.
Finally, clubs do hands-on service at nonprofit organizations, such as caring for animals at a local shelter or donating items and money.
These are all great examples of how Aktion Clubs can team up to do great things with the help of the community.
